2004-10-07 - 1:13 a.m. got called on in Criminal Law today- it was fine- I actually like my criminal law professor. My course structure: Civil Procedure [the structure + process of law] (year long) Criminal law is the most engaging because the other ones are hard to care about- the stakes in criminal law are much higher and the cases are relatively more emotionally involving (it's the only class where we deal with sentences that involve prison time and allegations involve things like intentional murder- we haven't dealt much with the aspects I'm most interested in of course, like race, class, prison-industrial complex etc. etc.). Also because the prof is the most kick-back. But not matter how kick-back a professor is, the structure of the classroom is still totally wacked out. Tomorrow night I'm gonna check out shelter legal services. I'm thinking about signing up for court appointed special advocates with juvenile court of Suffolk County- this would not be a good idea if I'm serious about transferring. The law student orgs are starting to have real events- I saw something about a WTO moot court- more to explore- I still want to help set up a tenant's clinic with Allston-Brighton neighborhood association
