2004-10-16 - 3:00 a.m. there is a group of people of people, including some in my neighborhood, who are trying to get Somerville to be the first city that passes a resolution urging divestment from Israel and weapons manufacturers contracted by Israel (including Caterpillar, for the bulldozers used by Israel). we met with our city Alderman (Councilman) wednesday night. The people seem pretty cool- I'm going to a brunch/work meeting with them tomorrow. Saw Rep. Barney Frank talk about gay marriage thursday- not very interesting- I have my first real case at Shelter Legal Services- a guy who wants to get his criminal record sealed- learned that everyone who goes to our clinic is homeless, which seems like something I should've known- I feel I'm going to learn some valuable skills- CASA training is a huge time commitment- I think it's a good decision to wait until next year to do it- I don't think I'm going to transfer, I like where I am with everything except the lack of down professors and the lack of students my year I connect with- but I'd have to rebuild everything if I moved, plus I don't think I want to study that much (and do well enough to transfer) I went to the APA Law Students Assoc. dinner tonight- I met a few people who are second year- ended up hanging out with one of them and her friend until 2:30am- I'm definitely feeling a lot happier- I really need to spend more time studying-
