re: the current immigration discourse- if the politics of the cultural right is an effect of the material interests of the ruling class, then how do we analyze the guest worker program vs. calls for complete exclusion? the guest worker program further establishes the use of the border to serve the cheap labor interests of capital, what abouts this scheme's rejection by other right-wing forces which call for full exclusion? it's racism to be sure but from which sectors and why those sectors? segmented labor market/reinforcing labor castes and labor surplus/creating reserve pool of labor is surely a part of the equation as always-
